An fatal accident has occured four years ago on the road during the night. We were driving within the limits and driver’s reaction from our side were as quick as humanly possible. Fatality occured because of a previous self-accident. The court case has now come to an end. We kindly ask your help to manage the enormous amount of jurisdical fee and compensation money imposed on us.

Some of you may already know about this, but for everyone else, we would like to briefly recount what happened to us on the highway between Geneva and Lausanne four years ago, in August 2021.
We still had a band bus at that time. During the night, we were driving back from a concert. About 2 km ahead of us, a driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. His car crashed into the guardrail and came to a full stop in the middle of the highway without any lights on.
Despite hitting the brakes and reacting as fast as humanly possible, we crashed into the standing car. The other driver’s partner – who was unconscious in the passenger seat – died at the scene of the accident.
In addition to the deep emotional shock, the accident led to a four-year court case in which both drivers – us and the driver of the other car –were found guilty. The fine of 3,000 francs would have certainly been manageable.
However, the court costs and compensation to the parents of the deceased amount up to 50,000 francs. We are somehow trying to manage this mountain of debt, which is why we are asking for your kind support.
If you can help – with any amount – we would be very grateful!
What we do not understand and what makes us confused and angry is that the justice system needs to find someone guilty at all costs.
The accident has already caused enough emotional damage to all of the survivors.

Certain.es d’entre vous sont déjà au courant, mais pour tous.tes les autres, nous aimerions vous raconter brièvement ce qui nous est arrivé il y a quatre ans, en août 2021, sur l’autoroute entre Genève et Lausanne. Dans la nuit, alors que nous rentrions d’un concert – à l’époque, nous avions encore un bus pour le groupe –, un automobiliste s’est endormi à environ 2 km devant nous, a percuté la glissière de sécurité et s’est retrouvé en travers de l’autoroute, sans phares. Malgré un freinage d’urgence, notre voiture a percuté le véhicule immobilisé. La passagère, la compagne du conducteur, est décédée sur le lieu de l’accident.
Outre un profond choc émotionnel, l’accident a entraîné un procès de quatre ans au cours duquel les deux conducteurs – nous et le conducteur de la voiture accidentée – ont été reconnus coupables. L’amende de 3000 francs avec sursis aurait certainement été supportable.
Cependant, les frais de justice et l’indemnisation des parents de la défunte s’élèvent à environ 50 000.- francs. Nous nous retrouvons maintenant avec cette montagne de dettes et c’est pourquoi nous sollicitons votre aide.
Si vous pouvez nous aider, quel que soit le montant, nous vous en serons très reconnaissants !
Ce que nous ne comprenons pas, ce qui nous trouble et nous met en colère, c’est que le système judiciaire cherche à tout prix un.e coupable. Comme si l’accident n’avait pas déjà causé suffisamment de dommages psychologiques aux survivants.

Wir haben ein Anliegen an euch.
Einige von euch wissen das schon, für alle anderen möchten wir kurz erzählen, was uns vor 4 Jahren im August 2021 auf der Autobahn zwischen Genf und Lausanne passiert ist. In der Nacht, auf der Rückfahrt von einem Konzert – damals hatten wir noch einen Bandbus – schlief ein Autofahrer ca. 2 km vor uns kurz ein und prallte in die Leitplanke. Das Auto blieb quer, mitten auf der Autobahn stehen, ohne Lichter an. Mit unserem Auto prallten wir trotz schnellster Reaktion und Vollbremsung in das stehende Auto. Die Beifahrerin des verunfallten Auto, die Partnerin des Lenkers, starb noch am Unfallort.
Neben einem tiefen emotionalen Schock zog der Unfall ein 4-Jähriges Gerichtsverfahren nach sich, in dessen Zuge beide Lenker – wir und der Fahrer des verunfallten Autos – für schuldig befunden wurden. Die Busse von 3000.- auf Bewährung wäre sicher verkraftbar
gewesen.
Die Gerichtskosten und die Genugtuung der Eltern der Verstorbenen belaufen sich allerdings auf rund 50’000.-. Mit diesem Berg von Schulden versuchen wir nun umzugehen, und fragen deshalb um eure Unterstützung an.
Falls ihr – mit welchem Betrag auch immer – helfen könnt, sind wir sehr dankbar!
Was wir nicht verstehen, uns verwirrt und auch wütend macht, ist, dass das Justizsystem auf Biegen und Brechen einen Schuldigen/eine Schuldige braucht. Als hätte der Unfall nicht schon genug seelischen Schaden für die Überlebenden angerichtet.
Um die Schuldenlast etwas zu erleichtern und unserer Band ein wenig Hoffnung zu schenken, danken wir für jede Unterstützung.
